I'm no military tactician, but it seems that we should have demonstrated an insurmountable show of force and not put up with any shit. We should have taken over their media and put the country under the gun to do it our way. Period.

Instead we've got Iran supplying weapons to insurgents, and we're cowtowing to mullahs who are as unreliable as can be. We're turning the country over in, what, two weeks? Huh?

I think stop loss is a good policy...in this case, it seems like it is being abused. If they need more soldiers, draft them...but we all know that WILL NOT happen in an election year. Besides, we are supposed to turn over control in like, 5 days, right? doubtful...

Bush IS responsible for this debacle....but make NO mistake...so are the AMERICAN people....every last one of us. Most people do little more than vote to make this country a better place to live. At least the military is fighting for our freedom? Even if you HAVE served this country in the military, what are you doing TODAY to make this country a better place to live? The answer lies inside every single one of us.

I beg to differ, Dana.

We Americans did not start this BS. They did. They want to see ALL of us dead. From what I've been reading, intel go back to the Clinton years, and nothing was done.

Say what you want, but at least Bush had the balls to do what Clinton wouldn't.

I think it's horrible that we've lost 800+ American lives in Iraq. But we lost more than that in the first wave at Normandy.

One would think that the PTB would have learned the lesson of Vietnam.
